Unfortunately for a grandmother in Kentucky, this agony was thrust upon her when she believed her darling little granddaughter had gone away for good after going missing for 36 hours. Long, agonizing hours and a restless night followed as neighbors and officials worked together to find this two-year-old daughter. Thankfully, she was located, but her homecoming was met with surprise. She was not alone, and it was unbelievable who was with her.

The search teams and FBI agents worked for hours in the heat and humidity on Thursday and Friday. The environment was also rough, hazardous, and snake-infested. The cops were all about to go out into the wilderness and try their luck again when one of their neighbors brought the news they had been waiting for: Charlee had been discovered! She was not, however, alone. The first sigh of relief came from the man who had discovered her initially – Wayne Brown. He remembered how he had been sitting on his sofa, praying for Charlee’s return. It was then that he noticed a blonde-haired female roaming about in his backyard.

But when tiny Charlee eventually returned home, their joy was unsurpassed. “I can’t even express how relieved I am that this baby is back home because I love her more than anything else in the world,” granny Campbell said. Some others felt their reunion would never happen. It was an emotional one, with Charlee’s granddad racing to welcome her at the BCSO with a stuffed animal. Despite the fact that she had “no obvious serious injuries,” the sheriff stated that the girl appeared dehydrated and had several tick bites on her skin. Charlee was taken to the hospital right away for assessment, being brought inside on a stretcher while hugging a teddy animal close to her chest. The small girl exhibited no emotion, yet she remained mute from her initial appearance on her neighbor’s doorstep. Little Charlee may have returned home, but the people concerned are still puzzled.

Simply seeing the missing girl was insufficient for them, especially given their own experiences on the land where she was thought to be.
