It’s painful for Quick not to be able to find her child, and it’s much more unbearable when 100 people looking can’t find her either. But when tiny Charlee eventually returned home, their joy was unsurpassed. “I can’t even express how relieved I am that this baby is back home because I love her more than anything else in the world,” granny Campbell said. Some others felt their reunion would never happen. It was an emotional one, with Charlee’s granddad racing to welcome her at the BCSO with a stuffed animal. Granny Campbell, on the other hand, promised Charlee and Penny some additional treats, mostly putting the hero pit bull on a hamburger diet. It’s my way of saying thanks for sticking by Charlee.

The anguish that Charlee’s family experienced when she went missing is something that no family could ever imagine. “She was up all night yesterday night.” I’m not going to give up until she’s located. I don’t care if the dogs searched and found nothing. I don’t mind. “I’ll look till she comes back or anything,” Natalie Quick, her mother, said. Fortunately, several people assisted in the search. “We cannot thank the firemen, EMTs, dispatchers, search teams, other public safety agencies, and volunteer searches from the community enough,” stated the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office in a Facebook post.
